Cedar Valley Arboretum

Whether you love horticulture or just beautiful outdoor spaces in general, you’re invited to visit the Cedar Valley Arboretum and Botanic Gardens.

With 40 acres of ground to explore, you can see an award-winning children’s garden, a 4-acre butterfly garden, Iowa Native Prairie, Stout Daylily Collection, and Master Gardener’s Orchard.

Walk the grounds and discover beautiful gardens along with mosaics and sculptures made from a variety of plants. Children will enjoy the kid’s garden area, which is suitable for all ages. This area includes fun playhouses, a Hobbit House, sand toys, and a small pond with lily pads.

There are a variety of other events happening at the Arboretum throughout the season, such as Shakespeare in Gardens, Summer Storytime in the Children’s Garden, education events, and guest speakers with tips from flower arranging to Hosta care.

The Arboretum is a great escape from the hustle and bustle of Waterloo. Flower gardens are constantly changing with the seasons, so there’s always something new to see. The natural beauty awaits you!
