We got in touch with the TreeHaus team to learn more about Waterloo's newest gathering space.
Creating a Community Living Room
When the opportunity arose to establish a permanent footprint in downtown Waterloo, Simeon Talley and Mobin Khan, co-owners of TreeHaus, jumped at the chance to contribute to the steadily growing momentum. Bringing their vision to life required a collective effort, drawing on the passion and hard work of their dedicated team, key local partners, surrounding business owners, and supportive community members. Thanks to that shared commitment, TreeHaus has transformed into a gathering space that feels genuinely comfortable, warm, and lived-in from day one.
"We wanted to create something that felt like more than a coffee shop... A place somewhere between home and work where people could meet, get things done, discover something new, or simply hang out. We call it a community living room."
- Simeon Talley, co-owner
What’s Brewing: Quality Coffee & Local Partners
TreeHaus takes pride in being a specialty coffee shop that keeps great coffee approachable for everyone. Partnering with Chocolate Fish Coffee Roasters out of Sacramento, California, they bring high-quality beans to Waterloo alongside an exciting seasonal menu featuring fall favorites like maple cardamom and pumpkin chai.
Beyond coffee, TreeHaus features local favorites across the region. You will find fresh pastries and baked goods from Bluff & Crumb and Con Amor Bakery, premium loose-leaf teas from the Tea Cellar, and fresh local dairy from Hansen's Dairy. The shop's creative touches and decor come courtesy of neighbors at Pretty Good Co. and Epic Finds.
"TreeHaus is for everyone. You don't have to be a coffee expert. You don't need a reason to be here. Come to work, meet a friend, make a friend, or just enjoy a good cup of coffee."
- Simeon Talley, co-owner
More Than a Coffee Shop
The space itself is built for versatility. Whether you come solo to work on a laptop, host a casual meeting, or catch up with friends, TreeHaus is designed to adapt to you. Keep an eye out for upcoming pop-ups, vintage vendors, and community events featuring local artists and makers.
The team is eager to hear from everyone who walks through the doors and invites you to help shape what TreeHaus becomes. Next time you are exploring downtown Waterloo, stop in, grab a mug, and make yourself at home!
