Lights the Night Cancelled due to Winter Storm

Due to the National Weather Service’s issuance of a Winter Storm Warning and forecasts of heavy snow accumulation and hazardous travel conditions,Experience Waterloo has made the difficult decision to cancel Waterloo Lights The Night for this year to keep attendees, volunteers, and staff safe.
This decision was not made lightly. Waterloo Lights The Night represents months of planning, significant volunteer effort, and a beloved holiday tradition that helps kick off the season in Waterloo. However, the safety and wellbeing of all involved must come first, and the event will not be rescheduled this year.
“Canceling Waterloo Lights The Night is an incredibly hard call for our team and partners,” said Tavis Hall, Executive Director of Experience Waterloo. “We know how much this event means to families, volunteers, and our community as a whole. Even though we cannot safely move forward this weekend, our commitment to promoting opportunities for people to gather, explore, and celebrate in Waterloo has not changed. Throughout this holiday season, Experience Waterloo will continue to highlight events and experiences that showcase the spirit of our community.”
While this kickoff is canceled, the holiday season in Waterloo is just getting started. Experience Waterloo encourages residents and visitors to support local businesses and to take part in holiday activities across the city in the weeks ahead.
Thank you to our sponsors and partners!
