We like Waterloo. We like Waterloo so much that we want to bring more people here, to fully Experience Waterloo (see what we did there?).

The best way to bring people here is through events – either through recruiting conferences, meetings, reunions or tournaments to come to Waterloo, by creating our own events or assisting local festivals in their efforts to grow. We are looking for a detail-oriented self-starter who can thrive in creative, empowered environments – driven by pride in our community.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES
  • Develop & execute events aimed at brining out-of-town visitors to Waterloo
  • Coordinate with marketing team & community partners to attract conferences, meetings & reunions
  • Coordinate with local facilities & event spaces to service conferences, meetings & reunions
  • Employs a creative sales approach to bring meetings, conventions, tradeshows, and other events to Waterloo
  • Prepares and presents customized bids to local, state, regional and national organizations to solicit their events
MINIMUM SKILL REQUIREMENTS
  • Must be detail oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Must have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must have good analytical skills and decision-making ability
  • Must be able to work independently and multi-task, prioritizing as appropriate
  • Computer literacy including basic applications of Microsoft Word and Excel, and the ability to quickly learn web-based platforms
THE GROWN-UP DETAILS
  • Full-Time position
  • Pay range: $40,000- $50,000 (commensurate with experience)
  • 100% Health, Dental & Vision Insurance
  • 4% annual retirement payment
