From live music to Veterans Day and early holiday happenings, November offers a little something for everyone.
Veterans Day - A Tribute to the Vietnam War
November 11 | 10 - 4 pm
Celebrate and honor those who have served by visiting the Sullivan Brothers Iowa Veterans Museum on Veterans Day. As a special thank-you, all veterans and active-duty military receive free admission.
The day features a lineup of meaningful events:
- Enjoy homemade chili prepared by local Vietnam veteran and retired caterer Len Swiatly — served to the first 125 guests in the Mess Hall starting at Noon.
 - At 1:30 p.m., General David Cole presents his program, “The Challenge of Command.”
 - Veterans Bob Livingston and Len Swiatly will lead a Missing Man Table ceremony.
 - Stick around for live music by Swiatly and film footage highlighting veteran experiences, shown after the program and in the museum theater.
 
Holiday Arts Festival
November 8-9 | 9 am - 4 pm 
Start your holiday shopping with The Waterloo Center for the Arts at this unique arts festival featuring original works from over 40 talented Midwest artists. You'll find handcrafted pieces in a wide range of styles and media, including ceramics, jewelry, paintings, photography, and more. It's the perfect place to pick up meaningful gifts or something for yourself.
Waterloo Lights the Night
November 29 | 6 - 8 pm
Experience Waterloo’s annual Waterloo Lights the Night event is the perfect way to kick off the holiday season. This free, family-friendly celebration invites you to bundle up and enjoy the festive lights in the park, visit Santa, and say hello to the farm animals. Don’t forget to warm up with some hot chocolate and cookies while spending time with friends downtown.
