World Hoop Day at Cedar Valley Sportsplex

October 5th @ 2:00 PM – 8:00 Pm

Come to World Hoop Day at Cedar Valley Sportsplex for family-friendly fun! Take part in free classes on hula hoop fitness, choreography, tricks, games, and more! Wright House | House Party with Humanize My Hoodie at Waterloo Center for the Arts

October 11th @ 5:30 PM – 8:30 pm

Waterloo Center for the Arts is excited to celebrate Waterloo’s very own André Wright with Wright House and Co-Founder of Humanize My Hoodie. Come celebrate art, fashion, and activism. The event is FREE with hoodies and drinks available for purchase. More info can be found HERE.

TONES: Taste of the North End at Waterloo Center for the Arts

October 11th @ 6:30 PM – 9:30 PM

Celebrate “what’s good” and “who’s good” at the annual TONES Award reception where 12 honorees will be recognized for their work and accomplishments in the community. The event will also include refreshments, a silent auction and lively music and dancing. Tickets and donations are available HERE

Strolling with the Spirits at Elmwood Cemetery

October 12th @ 3:30 PM and 7:00 PM (Ages 12 & up)

Walk through the oldest cemetery in Waterloo and watch history come to life! Hear the stories of some of Waterloo’s founding individuals as told by. Register HERE for this unique, living history experience. 

Absolute Pro Wrestling at Cedar Valley Sportsplex

Games all month long

Cheer on the Waterloo Black Hawks to victory as the season kicks off! The first home game of the month is October 11th, but there are plenty of games and events to attend at Young Arena! Check out their WEBSITE for the season schedule and tickets. 

We Ride: Experience Waterloo Trails

October 13th

Meet @ 9:45 AM and Ride @ 10:00 AM

Join us in experiencing the Waterloo trails at the last We Ride event of the season! The We Ride Bike series encourages beginner and casual riders to get active and join organized rides. The final ride will feature a chance to win goodies from sponsors and Selfie Stations along the trail, creating the perfect photo ops for all your socials! Vertigo Performance Art Series at Waterloo Center for the Arts

October 18th and 25th

7:00 PM

This performance art series features work of artists utilizing sound, video, and the human body. 

The first performance art piece, Black Thread Come To Life with Jill Wells, is on October 18th and features the synergy of ASL interpretation, artistic interaction with a sewing machine, and live drumming to create a cohesive, immersive experience that engages both the visual and auditory senses. 

The second performance art piece on October 25th, ENUF: A Celebration of Black Joy & Expression with Akwi Nji + LD Kidd, seamlessly integrates choreographed movement, painting, on-book poetry reading, improvisational performance, acapella vocals, and percussion. 

Both performances are free to the public. 

All Hall-Loo’s Eve at The Weis Mansion

October 25th – October 26th

This is the perfect weekend getaway for paranormal fanatics and true crime fans! Guests will get the opportunity to hear from horror and true crime writers, go on a ghost hunt, and play a character in a murder mystery. For tickets options and a full schedule of events visit HERE.

Murder, Mystery + Mocktails at the Waterloo Convention Center

October 25th @ 7:00 PM – 10:00 PM

A night of mingling and mystery awaits at the Waterloo Convention Center! In addition to providing guests with delicious mocktails and a thrilling mystery to solve, this event is also a fundraiser for Pathways Behavioral Services. Tickets and info can be found HERE.

Starbite Planetarium Show at Norris Corson Family Planetarium
